HeatWatch is a product of GILLICO LLC, a private limited liability company based in Scottsdale, Arizona. HeatWatch provides real-time Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) heat risk information to outdoor workers and recreationists.
This Privacy Policy applies to the HeatWatch mobile application (iOS and Android), the HeatWatch Progressive Web App at heatwatch-app.vercel.app, and any related services.
HeatWatch collects only the minimum information required to calculate and display your local heat risk.
With your permission, HeatWatch accesses your device's GPS coordinates to determine your current location. This is used solely to fetch local weather data and calculate WBGT for your area. Your location is never stored on our servers, never shared with third parties for advertising, and never retained beyond your active session.
You may deny location access at any time. If denied, the app provides a manual entry option so you can still use HeatWatch without sharing your location.
If you choose to manually enter weather conditions (air temperature, humidity, wind speed, days on site), that data is processed locally on your device to calculate WBGT. It is not transmitted to or stored on our servers.
HeatWatch stores minimal preferences locally on your device using browser session storage — such as your Work/Play mode selection and the last screen you visited. This data never leaves your device and is cleared when your session ends.

We use your location to fetch weather data on your behalf. Your coordinates are sent directly to weather data APIs — they are not retained by GILLICO LLC.
HeatWatch uses the following third-party services to deliver weather data. Each has its own privacy policy.
GILLICO LLC does not sell, rent, or share your information with any third party for advertising, marketing, or commercial purposes.
GILLICO LLC does not maintain a database of user information. Because we do not collect or store personal data on our servers, there is no user data to retain or delete.
Local session preferences stored on your device can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser or app cache, or by uninstalling the application.
HeatWatch is intended for use by adults in occupational and recreational outdoor settings. The app is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information through HeatWatch, please contact us at the address below and we will take appropriate steps to remove that information.
Because HeatWatch does not collect or store personal information, most data rights requests (access, deletion, portability) are satisfied by the nature of the app itself — there is no personal data on file to provide or delete.
For location data specifically: you control location access through your device's permission settings at all times. You may revoke location access at any time in your device Settings without affecting your ability to use HeatWatch via manual condition entry.
All data transmitted between HeatWatch and weather data APIs is encrypted via HTTPS. Because we do not store personal data on our servers, the attack surface for a data breach is minimal. We nonetheless follow reasonable security practices in the development and deployment of HeatWatch.
GILLICO LLC may update this Privacy Policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be noted with a revised Effective Date at the top of this page. Continued use of HeatWatch after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
We will never change this policy in a way that retroactively permits collection or sale of data that was not disclosed at the time of collection.
